
Some people go though life being afraid of everything but their bed. If you're scared of dogs or ladders or flying they call it a phobia. When the number of things you avoid keeps growing until you're scared all the time - it's called an anxiety disorder.
Usually a client will rationalise the fear 'it might bite me' is a common rationalisation (for a clown phobia, for instance). The person then avoids all situations where the trigger might be present. The repercussions can be far reaching. Take a flying phobia, that means no overseas holidays with friends and family, no career aspirations and, worse of all, once that area is closed-off, it can no longer be a source of opportunity inspiration, variety, enjoyment. Instead, it's dread, an inability to look forward without fear, a realisation that something 'silly' has you emotionally overwhelmed'.
The TFT treatment for phobias involves having the client focus on the problem whilst the client or TFT practitioner taps a sequence of points on the upper body or face. It's painless, the process involves feedback by the client on the strength of the fear which will determine the areas to be tapped. An 80% cure rate is expected in most cases which can be improved if toxin reduction treatment is also used. The treatment is intended to be a cure but any re-occurrence can be easily treated, often this will be due to the client coming into contact with toxins and the client can tap themselves. The pattern of tapping re-codes a person's neurology very effectively and with immediate results.
NLP contains a vast array of treatments but is most often lauded for its fast phobia cures. Results are dramatic and immediate and often leave the client mystified, excited and curious as to why they ever had a problem in the first place. Some clients might not even remember they ever had an overwhelming fear even though it's what they came to see us about.
The treatment involves establishing how the trigger is encoded in the mind of the client - maybe it's an x-rated slasher movie of them being chased or bitten by a dog. Until pressed many phobics don't even realise they are running such a movie in their head. The treatment effectively overwrites the movie using something comical or harmless in its place. We like to test our work whenever possible and either expose the client to the trigger or get them to imagine it. We often ask the client to try to get back into the scarred/phobic state - more often than not a giggle or big smile I all they can manage.
One of the amazing things we've discovered about treating multiple phobias/fears is that after two or three fears are removed totally, other fears diminish without any direct treatment; this gives us an easy way to help reduce more generalised anxiety. We may use the NLP cure, the TFT cure or both depending upon the situation. No messing around. 15 minute treatments. No cure, no fee. You have nothing to lose except the fear.
