Leadership Skills

By definition all leaders have followers but what attracts people to a leader is how that leader makes them feel. A good leader will first lead themselves and then their team(s) and always recognises that if they want different results they have to change.

If a leader isn't comfortable in themselves then no one else will be, they have to be comfortable with what they are doing otherwise they won't achieve it and this is the same for their teams and all the people they interact with.

Leaders differentiate themselves from managers in a number of ways and much of this is to do with their behaviour which is then modelled by others in their teams and the organisation. It is therefore very important that the behaviour of the leaders is the behaviour they would want other to model; that it is authentic and congruent and through NLP techniques we show how leaders can adapt their behaviour accordingly.

When leaders adapt their behaviour they can bring about change.

Working with Free2Change will enable leaders to understand how their behaviour impacts on others and that it is important to make changes within themselves and to believe in themselves.

Leaders can only lead if they are not working the small stuff. This has to be delegated to the management and team members. Leaders have a can do attitude and think multi dimensionally but only concentrate on the important issues allowing their teams to deal with everything else.

Delegation will only work where the recipients are also empowered, truly empowered and have the confidence in themselves that they can deliver and the confidence that they are being supported in what they do.

Leaders should think about the impact they have on people every time they interact with them. They need to create environments without stress since this will be totally detrimental to what they are doing.

Leaders need to be able to create the environment in meetings where people feel able to contribute, challenge and know they will not only be heard but their contribution considered.

The techniques that we use will gain alignment and commitment. With alignment and agreement implementation and success will follow.

With enablement and delegation will come accountability and this will engender greater commitment and be a driver to achieving the organisational goals.
